On Friday we reviewed over the math packet which my classmates really never asked any questions. Now I know to read the directions carefully. When it came to the WBD DO part I taught it was just to help you. But it turned out that you actually had to do it.

Cat Whiskers

Today we learned a thing that has do to with something that had a cat face. It was confusing at first and I am a little confuse now, but not as much anymore. It has to do with median. The M=Median, L=Lower, Q=Quarter, and U=Upper. Their are Quarters which divide the # line up. You only have to use those #s.

Exclamation Math

Today we used permutation and combinations through substitutions of known values for variables. We used exclamation points in math today and I thought it was a really hard at first with all those #s. But it turns out that it was really easy and only takes you less than 1 minute to work out a problem. This was easy for me because I learned it last year.

Equations

Today we were able to use Subtitutions Property to solve equations. We also took a quiz about Probability and greated our Science CFAs. We solved equations by going through the steps. All you have to do is to do WBD DO or find what a variable equals. Solving these equations didn't seem so hard.

P & C With Thanksgiving Meals

Today we reviewed Probability and Chance with relation to thanksgiving meals while determining the likeliness of an event to occur. We went out into the hallway to see who ate what. We converted the #s of the people who ate the stuff into fractions and percents. The sample space was 29 students.Today was fun because we did the food thing like twister. It was funny how some people looked.

We presented for most of the class. Their was some that were really funny. After that we just went over more questions over the CFA.

CFA

Today we went over the CFA problems. We only went over 7 problems and I got all those problem right.
7/7     When Mr. Sudo went over the problems there was parts where I thought I got some problems wrong, but no I got them right. This test was a super easy test. I knew how to work out every problem really fast. He also told us to drink some KoolAid to get the problems right.

Cps CFA

Today we just put the answers that we got on the CFA onto the Cps remotes. The CFA was like one of the easiest math test I ever took. After that I went to my Basketball game.

Probability Fold able

On Friday we did a Prob. Fold able. I gave both types of prob which are Theoretical and Experimental. It also had Mean, Median, Mode, and Range. And examples for M, M, M, and R. I wrote mostly everything that has to do with Prob. It also had Outlier. I also gave really informative things for Prob. That is what I did on Friday.

Statistics S.S. S.P.

Today we identified Sample Space and Sample Probability. We learned about Bias and Unbias today.
Bias- Unfair, Judgemental, Distort Facts, and favoritism.
Unbias- Opposite of Bias and Fair.
Statistics means facts over time/"truth". Sample Probability has to do with Probability.

Mean, Median, Mode, Range and Outlier

Today we learned more about Mean, Median, Mode and Range. But today we learned about an Outlier which happens when you do both Mean and Range. An Outlier is a # or a group of #s who's value in a set is "very different" from the other values. Today we were reviewing over everything especially Range. Range is not just subtracting, but you still need to do more(Outlier). For every powerpoint slide we used the same #s as an example.

Mean, Median, Mode, Range and MONEYBALL

The first thing we talked about was Moneyball. We talked about the money, batting average, and all that. The way you calculate The batting average is by making this Hits/AB AB=S.S. The M, M, M, R was a review for me. I Learned:
Mean = average Total(added)/S.S.
Median = # in the middle from Least to Greatest
Mode = # that appears the most
Range = Biggest # minus Smallest #
Today we discussed Moneyball and how using Prob/Statics can make an unfair games fair. Apply central tendency to real life situations.

Probability

Today we took informative notes about the steps of probability and not so much of Independent. For the Do Now we were doing the steps as we went to do the Do Now.
!st step-   Identify Sample Space
2nd step- Identify how many of each #, color, and etc.
3rd step-  Identify event(s)
4th step-  Ratio ---> Total Outcomes
                                Sample Space
The small definition we learned for Independent was Not Relying. The rest of the day we made like a poster about the 7 Billion births in counting. That is it.

Probability and Chance

Today we learned about Probability and Chance. I learned that Prob. is a fraction and Chance is a %. We also learned Experimental, Sample Space, and FCP. The F in FCP stands for Fundamental, the C stands for Counting, and the P stands for Principle. We learned that a Prob. is a measure of how likely it is for an event to happen. Chance is how likely it is that something will happen. Sample Space is the amount of possible outcomes of an experiment. That is what I learned.

Probability of M&Ms

Yesterday when we did the M&M probability we learned about probability. We also learned about Sample Space, Chance, Compound, Theoretical, and Experimental. On the worksheet of M&Ms we had to write the probability for all the types of M&M colors. Their are some M&Ms to count. I also learned all the bags of M&Ms don't have the same amount of M&Ms.

Video

Today we saw a video with 2 ?s about s.f., perimeter, and area. The video had an old man teaching us the opposite way, but he was really brilliant. He thought us the very long way to solve a problem. I was confused and so were other people. It was hard to understand, but I realized it was worth listening to. At last it all made sense to what he was saying. I already knew s.f., perimeter, and area, but when he was teaching us he made more work and good at teaching.

Similar Figures, Proportions Scale Drawings

Today we reviewed some of the things Mr. Sudo already thought us. The things he already thought us were similar figures, proportions, and scale drawings. I learned that scale means a ratio between two sets of measurements. I also learned that similar figures means same shape not size as the short way to remember it. I also learned that proportions means two ratios must form equal. Everything will be used for the rest of the year. That is what I learned today.

Similar Figures and Triangles

Today we learned about mostly triangles and the definition for Similar Figures is
Similar Figures- Figures that have the same shape
     - Corresponding pairs of sides of similar figures that are proportional
The types of Triangles we learned today are
Isosceles- Tri. w/ congruent sides
Scalene- Tri. no congruent sides
Right- Tri. w/ a 90% angle
Obtuse- Tri. w/ 1 angle larger than 90%
Acute- Tri. where all angle's are less than 90%
Equal lateral- Tri. all sides are congruent
Today was a review for me. I already heard about all these triangles, but I might of not of known what the names of the triangles meant.                                                 (Tri means triangle)

On Friday we did a foldable were we had to make it about S.F. I really did not know what to put on my foldable but then I remembered that i had all the information I needed in my notebook. I put the 8 ways to write a proportion, WBD DO, KHDmDCM, KFC, examples, and the definitions of similar and proportions. That is all I remember of what I put on my foldable.

Brain Pop Quiz

Today we took a quiz over S. F. I got a 7/10 which = 70, The ones I missed were the last 3 questions and now I know why I missed the questions. I did the calculations wrong in my mind. It was just because of 1 # that I missed that 1 question. I also read the the question wrong and I thought the S. F. was another #. Today we took a Quiz and went over every single question.

Similar and Scale Factor

Similar- Corresponding sides and not alike.
Today we had similar triangles. One triangle was bigger than the other. On 1 side of the big triangle their was a 4 and on the smaller triangle their was a 2. The scale factor was dividing by 2. On the big tri. there was a 9 & 6, and on the small tri. there was a X & a Y, so I divide it by 2 & got X=4.5 and Y=3 as my answer. I wasn't there for the rest of class so I don't know what happened the rest of class. THE END

Proportion and KHDmDCM

Today we did Pro. and that is when you put a number over a fraction bar and another number under it. This is suppose to help you understand a problem easier. Converting a measurement to another. Make the #'s bigger.

A Pro. is kind of a fraction and kind of not. Partly a fraction and partly not a fraction.

In problems for proportions you get to increase, decrease, use operations, you can use dilation and reduction.

Excel & S.F.

Today we learned how to do a excel. First you go to google docs & go to spreadsheet then it opens and you get started. We also learned S.F. which has a big and small shape. Their is a # on 1 side of a shape and on the other  similar shape on the same side their is a variable. Same thing on other sides. Then using the knowledge you know   you can figure out what the S.F. is. The S.F. is the number that you multiply with a number of a side to find the # of the other similar shape were the variable is.

Coordinate

Today we learned about how to coordinate distance, but I already knew the stuff so I finished fast. We tried to figure out the distance in a park and we needed to put posters of something on the trees. 1cm = 100m and the first distance was 300m, but it didn't work. But we knew it was right so we went to the next problem. The next answer was 800m, but it still didn't work. By that time it was time to go, so we left without finishing. But I knew we3 were right.

Scientific Notation

On Friday we played a game were the computer spun the dice and there were three numbers. We could use any operation we wanted to get a number. We lost. Scientific Notation is when you either add zeros to make the number bigger or smaller. The answer will be a decimal. You can do the opposite.
EX: 3.45 x 10negative2nd = .0345

EX: .03/100 + .004/1000 + .0005/10000 = 3/100 + 1/250 + 1/2000 = 60/2000 + 8/2000 + 1/2000 = .0345

Exponents and Fractions

An Exponent is the small number at the top right corner of a number. A fraction is when you divide because the line in the middle means to divide. Whenever your multiplying variables add the exponents. Whenever your dividing variables subtract the exponents. You do both of these when the variables are the same.
Keep the first fraction
Flip the second one
Change the sign to a multiplication
EX of mult: d squared times d cubed = d to the power of 4
EX of divi: a cubed divided by a squared = a to the power of 1
EX of KFC: 3 4/5 divided by 2/5 19/5 times 5/2 = 95/10 = 9.5 or 9 1/2

Laws of Exponent

The Exponent of a number says how many times to use the number in a multiplication. Whenever you have a negative number as an exponent the steps are...First make a fraction. Second you put both the base and exponent in the denominator and the exp. becomes a positive. Finally if there is nothing in the numerator, put a 1. you can also do the opposite.
EX: 2 negative cubed = 1/2 cubed.
EX: 1/3 squared = 3 negative squared

Fractions

The top of the fraction is called the numerator and the bottom of the fraction is the denominator. An Improper Fraction is when the num. is bigger than the den.. A Mixed Fraction is when their is a whole number and a fraction.
EX of Mix.:  1 3/8
EX of Imp.;  8/5

Ratio

A Ratio is a comparison of 2 or more quantities.
EX:  3:1 = 3 to 1 = 3/1
EX:  45% = 45/100 = 45 = 45 to 100

Exponents

Today was easy because it was easy to learn about negative exponents. First step of doing negative exponent is to make a fraction. Second you put both base and exp. in the denominator and the exp. becomes positive. Finally you put a 1 in the numerator. We also learned how to make a fraction to an exponent. For ex: 1/3 to the power of 2 equals 3 to the power of -2.

Identity Propertie

I learned a easier way to multiply in math today. Identity property is when you multiply any number times 1, the number stays the same. For example A times 1=A OR 5 times 1=5. Compatible #'s things that work 2gether. Another example: if you multiply 15 times 5 then you multiply 5 times 10 and 5 times 5. Then add the products of both problems then you get the answer.

Properties

Continuing from the other blog. The rule for Distributive for addition is when its ether 2 positives or 2 negatives you add. The rule for subtraction is whenever the signs are opposite you subtract. Always take sign from the larger number. Additive Inverse number and its opposite when combined will equal 0.

Properties

I liked math today because I learned 5 properties. These properties are Distributive, Commutative, Associative, Identity and Closure property. Distributive is when a number and a letter are the same for the problem. Commutative's order doesn't matter. I like the properties because they are interesting and fun to learn.
