Laws of Exponent

The Exponent of a number says how many times to use the number in a multiplication. Whenever you have a negative number as an exponent the steps are...First make a fraction. Second you put both the base and exponent in the denominator and the exp. becomes a positive. Finally if there is nothing in the numerator, put a 1. you can also do the opposite.
EX: 2 negative cubed = 1/2 cubed.
EX: 1/3 squared = 3 negative squared
